The smell of Christmas has come to the house. We have made piparkakkuja, gingerbread cookies, pepperkaker, brunekager, and all of the dear names that a loved cookie carry. I sneaked at least ten in the process of them being cooled enough. They are best when hot, and made together with small friends that are excited about the Christmas which is getting ever closer.
This weekend we have our once-a-month boys present, and for the first time in soon to be a year with this sometimes weekend parenting I crashed (and slept for who knows how long?) on the sofa while reading, the boys were playing games.
Could have been all the noise and people that we endured while we were in Barona arena, checking out zillions of free stuff, toys, pizzas and child-friendly activities. Fun, free, play and nicely arranged everything made this a good one to go to (although the youngest one got a bit shy and nervous at first with all the hundreds of peeps).

1. December
Today there were many children waking up early for the big event: the Christmas calendar. I don't have one, so I figured that I'd make one instead. A picture a day.
Can I succeed? Well, if one does not shoot the goals up high, one can only achieve modest results..
Behind door number one sits a confused season....
We have had frost, warmth, frost, warmth. on and on.
This morning the temperature showed -4C. When I walked home at 14, the temperature was warm enough to make trees believe it was the time to shoot some leaves.

Kids + boredom =...?
Yesterday I was in H&M for some haircolor, queue-ing for the cashier. There was a father with his two kids, a girl and a boy, waiting on the side, I guess the mom was in the line in front of me.

The girl was restless, as it is very boring to wait endlessly when you are little. She walked a bit around, and fumbled with stuff on the shelves. And the waiting started to be boringly long.
I have this space invaders bag, right, check the picture. A little bit of nostalgia there. Anyway.
This little girl suddenly walks up to my purse, she is so small that she has to stretch to reach its front, pretends to pick one of the space invaders from the purse, and put it in her mouth! She even smacked with her lips and pretended it was good! haha!!!
It really made standing in queue worth it!

Children say the darndest things!
A boy in the kindergarden was staring at me for a while, and I looked back on him, smiling, but not saying anything.
"Lisa! I know now why you have red hair!" he said with a most definate tone in his voice, like it was something he had pondered about for a long time. For I do indeed have very RED hair.
I ask back, "aha, why is that then?"
"Because you come from Norway!"
...
I think I lifted one eyebrow and mumbled something like a questionmark, because the follow-up from the boy was quick before I could say much more:
"Because Norway's flag has so much red in it!"
Ah the wonders of their little lives, so many things they figure out in their own cute ways! ♥
And many have wondered stuff about my hair, a four-year old asked how I managed to get it to stay there in the hair, and not look wet, and another was owerwhelmed by the fact that I had the patience to paint my hair every morning.... :D
